December TBR

So it is December and it's the time of year for reading Christmas themed books.

This year I am participating in Lauren and the books Patreon Bookclub and Decembers book is Last Christmas curated by Greg Wise and Emma Thompson.  It is a collection of short essays about Christmas by celebrities such as Meryl Streep, Emma Watson, Bill Bailey,  and also normal people who may have been involved in homelessness, organ transplants, refugee etc.  It ties in with the new movie Last Christmas starring Emilia Clarke (of GOT fame).

I have also bought A Literary Christmas which is an anthology of Christmas stories and excerpts from classic books by people such as Charles Dicken, Louisa May Alcott and C S Lewis.

I will also be reading a few Christmas Chick Lit/Cozy romances that I have accumulated on my kindle.  I will list them in my December wrap up.

I will be continuing in my reading of Nigel Slaters Christmas Chronicles, which so far has been delightful to read  and is just comfort and joy.

I am also very much just reading on a whim and if I find other books with A Christmas/Seasonal theme, they may be added to my reading list.

I am looking forward to festive reading and I hope you too with partake in Christmas reads.

Seasons Greetings

Love Lesley xx

Quick Catch Up

Hi All I've been absence from this blog for a while as unfortunately my beloved hubby has been diagnosed with cancer.  We have caught it early and the prognosis is very good and positive.  It has been a strange year all round and the last couple of months have been more stressful and worrying to say the least. Things are now on the up and thus I feel it is time I get back into updating this little blog of mine, and this little catch up is to say I am coming back.  I am planning more regular content, showcasing my crafty endeavours, what I'm reading and life in general I am also pondering a better and more productive blog schedule for 2021. Watch this space. With love and wishing you a good week Lesley xx

2021 Aspirations

Goodbye and good riddance to 2020 and Happy New Year 2021 It is 2021 and it is the perfect time to look at my aspirations for the coming year. Health and Self Care In 2020, I managed to loose a little weight.  I hope to continue on the path by continuing to look at my diet and eating  and also to do some more exercise.  I know I will never be the gym type, but I like walking and I want to up the walking I do this year.  Plus its good to get out in nature. I want to look after my skin more.  I suffer from acne and bad skin so I want to address this in 2021.  I want to get into the habit of a simple skin routine.  Cleanse, tone  moisturise  and spf factor, plus weekly face masks.  I also want to moisturise my body more as I have found the older I get the more my skin dries out now. I want to sleep better.  I am generally a good sleeper, but I do find I now need more sleep that is restful.  I want to try going to bed earlie...

Sunday Crafting - Card #1 Jar of Flowers

Today's make is using the new Stampin Up Jar of Flowers stamp set with the 2020-2021 In Colours Designer Series Paper in  Misty Moonlight. I stamped the image in Misty Moonlight and  I coloured the flowers using some felt tip pens and I used an old Hobby craft butterfly punch and yellow gems from my stash. I am really pleased with this card as it has been a long time since I have made one.  The stamp set is so lovely and versatile and comes with a Jar punch (although I totally forgot to use it for this card). Wishing you a happy Sunday Love Lesley xx
