Kiwillow Reads and Crafts

In June, I will be participating in June Eyre where I will be reading books inspired by Jane Eyre.  This is being ran by Laurenandthebooks.  The Patreon book club choice is Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys This is a prequel to Jane Eyre and relates to Rochester and his first wife. Also, I will be reading Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier which although DDM never said was based on Jane Eyre, it certainly has similar themes I am also planning to read The Skylarks War by Hilary McKay which won the Children's Award category for the Costa Book Prize in 2018.  Not Jane Eyre related but on TBR for the month I haven't decided what other books I may read this month, but I want to read dependant on my mood, but as long as I read these three books I will be happy.  I am still enjoying my reading this year so far.

I managed to read all that I set out to read on my May TBR.  I also read Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid which was my favourite book of the month and possibly my favourite book so far this year. It was such a quick and easy read.  I loved the style of writing.  It was fast paced, interesting and made me want to discover Fleetwood Mac, which I understand was partly the inspiration for the book. I also read The Librarian by Sally Vickers.  Again this was an enjoyable read that I read quickly and made me want to go visit my local library of which I am very ashamed to say I have visited in many years   Happy reading Love Lesley
